Who are we? iPAG Biographies

Here are iPAG Biographies of some of our members… we may not look quite like this though!

We started the group after an informal Central Scotland T1 meet up in Paisley in 2008. Since them many supporters have come and gone.  We hope we have encouraged people to not give up going after what they want to improve their health and wellbeing.  Our main reason for starting the group was in the hope of others not having to follow the same journey we did.  We are all volunteers, with families and day jobs, but we do the best we can to help and support others.

We started specifically raising awareness and campaigning for insulin pumps, but we now cover Type 1 Diabetes in general and anything in the NHS which affects it.  We have representation on many groups and work along side charities. We do presentations, meetings, briefs,

We have several facebook groups but the main ones are:

Aileen’s son Marc was diagnosed in 2006 when he had just turned 13 years old, and has had a very bumpy journey since, especially as he was referred to adult services at diagnosis, and never won that battle to get to paediatric services in their home city, Glasgow.
